Decorative elements in home interiors: rapidly growing popularity

Most interiors are unimaginable without certain decorative elements. This is especially true for modern classic decor in residential or commercial spaces. Interior designer Rima Rupeikaitė discusses this trend. The interiors she creates often feature Classic Line Decor elements of impeccable quality.

“These days, wall decoration strips and repeating furniture trims are quite a prevalent trend, especially when it comes to creating a modern classic feel in residential interiors. Interiors of this style are in high demand among clients,” says the designer. The synthesis of modern and classic styles helps to create an elegant, original interior that combines both classic and contemporary design elements without losing the desired cosiness of the home. The modern side is revealed through basic design solutions – colors, furniture construction, etc. Decorative elements such as wall and ceiling finishes and unique accessories allow you to maintain a connection with the classic style, giving an impression of refinement and elegance. “We use decorative moldings in most of the individual residential projects we create,” Rupeikaitė shares her experience.

According to the designer, when creating interiors, priority is given to durable, valuable materials: real stone, wood, glass, concrete. Classic decorative elements go well with them, which help to enhance the impression of durability and fullness. “We most often use decorative strips for walls and ceilings. We also choose skirting boards that are higher than standard. Wide door strips-borders designed to frame door frames are no exception. The aforementioned decorative elements exude a light, unobtrusive classicism.” In order for the door to blend directly into the interior, decorative frames are increasingly used. “Using this tool, the frames are hidden and only the door handle remains visible,” adds R. Rupeikaitė. This way, the door does not stand out from the overall picture – it does not interfere with the proportional arrangement of the decor.
