High ceilings
High ceilings are one of the biggest advantages of a room. First of all, they create a feeling of space that makes it easier to breathe, and secondly, they allow for much richer decoration of the walls and the ceiling itself. If the ceilings are low, it is recommended to leave the walls plain, without dividing them into zones or adding details that further reduce the space. If the ceiling height is higher than standard, this is the ideal option for a classic interior.
To ensure that the height of the room shows off all its advantages and does not create an uncomfortable feeling of a hall (which is created by flat ceilings), we recommend considering coffered ceilings with recesses. Divided into squares or rectangles, framed with classic profile corner strips (e.g., PCN-2002), the ceiling will become “lighter” and and more “open,” and the recesses can be used to hide additional lighting that does not compete with the decorative chandelier dominating the center. The entire perimeter of the ceiling must be framed with a decorative and ornate profiled strip (e.g., PCN-2033). The white color and classic profile will not dominate, but the refracted light will highlight the soft transitions and subtle play of shadows.
You can boldly paint high walls in a darker color and divide them into segments framed by narrow decorative strips (e.g., PCR-6005), and repeat their frame with wider strips with a modest profile. Such decoration will certainly not diminish the sense of space; on the contrary, it will enhance a large space.
