Let’s “frame” our home like a true work of art

A traditional method of finishing walls by framing and covering them with wooden panels (paneling) once had a clear functional purpose – it hid uneven walls and stains that appeared over time and insulated rooms. A wooden frame was attached to the wall, and squares were formed in it, decorated with relief strips on the inside. Usually, not the entire wall was framed in this way, leaving a 90-100 cm gap from the floor. For several hundred years, this type of home decoration reflected luxury, so it was expensive and required long and meticulous work by craftsmen.

Nowadays, wall decorations made of relief strips play a different role – that of an exceptional home interior decoration. Nowadays, walls are no longer covered with wooden frames or boards; everything is much simpler – all you need are strips of wood to form wall squares. This method requires significantly less time and money. Instead of wood trim, lightweight and practical polyurethane relief strips are used to frame the walls. They are cheaper than wood and plaster, easy to install, durable, resistant to moisture, temperature fluctuations, and stains, making them universally applicable and perfectly suited even for bathroom decor.

This type of decoration is suitable for both classic and luxurious, as well as modern, minimalist interiors of homes, hotels and restaurants. The composition, proportion and depth of the frames, properly adapted to a specific room, can help create an optical illusion that gives the impression of additional height and space. Endless variations, combining various colors, relief shapes, bright contrasts or monochrome, open the way to original interior solutions. Embossed strips in your interior can become a subtle style detail, “framing” the space or a dominant accent of the entire interior, giving a luxurious, graceful, classic and authentic image.

The use of embossed finishing strips seems at first glance to be an inconspicuous decor solution, but in fact it is a touch that completes the complete picture of the home interior. In the magazine “Mano namai” we talk about how “Classic line decor” embossed decoration strip compositions can create not only beauty, but also a unique character. Read more here.
